Charlie Ramsay is Thatcham escribe’s newly-appointed Business Development Advisor, responsible for delivery of escribe to the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Starting out about 30 years ago in the UK as a mechanical apprentice, his career has spanned a variety of roles including workshop controller, service manager and after-sales manager for a number of auto-brands.
“Some of my most enjoyable years have been working with body repairers, initially as an estimator for a Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, Audi, Land Rover and Aston Martin approved repairers, and then in running my own business as an independent assessor. Now settled in Australia, I’m keen to continue this association,” said Mr. Ramsay.
“Over the course of my career, I have seen and experienced many changes within the UK body repair industry, especially the way new vehicle technologies are changing our industry at such a rapid speed. I am excited to help bring escribe to Australia and New Zealand, as I truly believe the joint venture with Thatcham Research will be a key driver for positive change - not just within Suncorp, but within the wider repair industry,” said Mr. Ramsay.
Charlie has intimate knowledge of Thatcham Research’s systems and structures after completing his Automotive Technician Accreditation Vehicle Damage Assessor qualifications at Thatcham Research’s training academy.
These courses place escribe at the core of their programs, requiring a detailed knowledge of the product to achieve success. Charlie is also a Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (MIMI) and is a MIMI Certified Automotive Engineer.
